The next 5 -6 years, it was me and Dad. Us two against the world!
My Sister Charlotte lived with us & her boyfriend Mike too sometimes. I don’t remember him being very nice. One Christmas i remember them having an argument in the kitchen & he threw a Christmas card at her. Grandma stayed over sometimes too. She would always put a biscuit tin under her pillow, we would have a biscuit breakfast.
My memories of those 5-6 years are vague.
I do remember having great birthday parties. Bouncy castle in the garden, Grandma always made a trifle or two. At the end of the party time, Dad would always deflate the bouncy castle with us all still on it – great fun!! Everyone laughing and screaming, trying to get off before it collapsed on us!
One Christmas I got a Mickey Mouse Wendy house, we had great fun playing in there! This would go on to be passed to Charlottes children – Danielle & Katie. I remember playing in that with them, but that was a few years later.
Dad had a Red Honda Accord – F222 OLD. I’ll always remember that plate! Why? I don’t know? We were out in it one day & the front windscreen smashed. I was in the back getting glass all over me, so Dad took his shirt off & gave it to me to cover myself. Thinking about it, that could have been in his Capri? Either way, it doesn’t matter, it’s a silly memory!
Thats probably where my love for cars began? I was always a bit of a tomboy. I had a dolly named Sophie, but mostly played with Trains & Cars. Also my monkeys & gollywogs, which Grandma knitted jumpers for, they’re still wearing them now. Along with Percy – He was Uncle Brian’s as a child, then Dad’s, now I have him. He’s had multiple limbs stitched back on, but is still intact, wearing his little blue jumper.
